Blood sample: simple, painless and from home
As part of the PREEMPT study, you may be asked to collect a small blood sample at home using the Tasso lab collection device. This is a safe, easy, and needle-free way to help researchers learn more about your heart health.
PRE-EMPT Procedures | Coronary Artery Calcium scan
A coronary artery calcium (CAC) test is a kind of heart scan. X-rays take detailed images of the arteries that supply blood to the heart muscle. The images show any calcium deposits in your coronary arteries. Higher amounts of calcium in the arteries suggest more severe disease.
- Ordered for individuals without symptoms to assess future heart disease risk.
- Helps detect hardened plaque buildup in coronary arteries.
- No contrast dye or IV needed.
- Cannot show blockages.
PRE-EMPT Procedures | Cardiac CT Angiography (CCTA)
A quick, non-invasive CT scan that creates 3D images of the heart and coronary arteries. Detects plaque buildup and blockages.
